Help Stop Dangerous Give-Way accidents

Poor observation at junctions caused 50% of all UK accidents in 2025. e.g. failing to look properly or misjudging the speed of approaching priority traffic.

If Give Way signs at junctions from minor roads to A & B roads were changed to Stop, we think drivers would use better observation.

Reported road casualty statistics for Great Britain in 2025 show that around half of all casualties resulted from collisions occurring at or within 20 metres of a junction. We are particularly concerned about T-Junctions and Staggered Junctions.

Drivers having to stop would allow more time for better observation. We believe this would reduce collisions and injury rates.

Roundabouts and Give Way junctions on minor roads would remain as currently signed.

Poor observation can be caused by Saccadic Masking

The leading human factor in road casualty collisions is ineffective observation e.g. failing to look properly or misjudging the speed of approaching priority traffic.
